adventures of mascarah.

I've just begun a new decade. Sigh.

I have always wanted to be "a writer" but I'm lost somewhere in the prologue...whittling away at a story I may never tell.

Likes: pop culture. my chihuahua. architecture. modern art. elizabeth street. contemporary designer apparel. food. travel. foreign films. speakeasys. live music. politics. hot sauce. surprises. running in the rain. strangers. wednesdays. fearlessness...and 100s of other random things... maybe even you.

A southerner by birth, northerner by the grace of God, I'm simply a nyc gal who is lost somewhere on my constant exploration of the city and the life, love, and pursuit found within it.

If you are so inclined... sap {at} lifelovepursuit.com

Life. Love. Pursuit.
Way back in 2005-2006, I was working for a mobile marketing company traveling to college campuses across the country schilling our platform and services to college student government presidents, football coaches, university presidents, deans, and other random campus influencers.
It might sound nightmarish and at times the travel was. Overall though, it was amazing. One of the best things about my time there was that I got to do a ton of exploring on my own. This included a lot of random solo dinners, evenings out with kids 5 years younger than me partying and dancing to Devil Went Down to Georgia, and an endless stream of meetings with the aforementioned campus bigwigs and a bevy of local merchants, proprietors of collegiate gear, textbooks, the local bagel/late night pizza/smoothee joint and all those other places that are ingrained in our college experiences.
Quite simply, it was the time of my life. I bought this domain then. And knew someday I’d tell a story, just not sure what that story would be.
I’ve realized after 18 + months writing this blog that it is time to crank it up a notch. This blog is that cross country criss crossing journey in my life now. Although I’m not always mobile like I used to be, I take a journey with this blog each day. And I want to take this blog and my focus back to its roots - the reason behind the URL, my life, my loves, and the constant pursuit…..
I’m not quite sure what I want to do with it but I definitely feel a fork up ahead.
[Note on the Gators: A lot of my time was spent at University of Florida, one of our flagship campuses. I love Gainsville. I fell in love there, had my heart broken, and had the best damn sushi in any college town ever @ Dragonfly. This photo is from one of my trips there]
