adventures of mascarah.

I've just begun a new decade. Sigh.

I have always wanted to be "a writer" but I'm lost somewhere in the prologue...whittling away at a story I may never tell.

Likes: pop culture. my chihuahua. architecture. modern art. elizabeth street. contemporary designer apparel. food. travel. foreign films. speakeasys. live music. politics. hot sauce. surprises. running in the rain. strangers. wednesdays. fearlessness...and 100s of other random things... maybe even you.

A southerner by birth, northerner by the grace of God, I'm simply a nyc gal who is lost somewhere on my constant exploration of the city and the life, love, and pursuit found within it.

[Pursuit: 6 Cents] : Ted Gibson Beauty

Mary generously gifted me two awesome Ted Gibson products and I have fallen in love. Here’s my 6 cents on the two of them.

Build It - Blow Drying Agent: light and airy, this awesome spray seems to add just the right amount of body to my heavy, thick hair. I can definitely tell when I blow dry with my round brush that it gives it a slight lift. And more importantly, it also gives me a great, silky shine.

Tame it- Shine Lotion: I love this product even better than the one above. I’ve always been scared of productions with a lotion consistency because I am so prone to oil (oily skin, oily hair, eek!) but I have been pleasantly surprised by this. I use it each time I shower and it has done wonders for calming my frizz and flyaways. I can even tell a difference on my damaged ends.

Buying products like these would never occur to me, I’ve been a Kerastase or cheapo Herbal Essences basics gal for a long time. Although I love products I definitely don’t know my way around them (before Mary I couldn’t even properly apply lipgloss!)

Next up, I’m swinging by a Sephora or Target (yup, his products are sold at Target, how cool is that?) to pick up his Hair Color Shampoo (comes in colors!) in clear. I highly recommend both the products above. Fabulous. Semi-affordable.  Make a huge difference.

PS - Isn’t it crazy that here it is much easier to get to a Sephora than a Target? Only in NYC.
