adventures of mascarah.

I've just begun a new decade. Sigh.

I have always wanted to be "a writer" but I'm lost somewhere in the prologue...whittling away at a story I may never tell.

Likes: pop culture. my chihuahua. architecture. modern art. elizabeth street. contemporary designer apparel. food. travel. foreign films. speakeasys. live music. politics. hot sauce. surprises. running in the rain. strangers. wednesdays. fearlessness...and 100s of other random things... maybe even you.

A southerner by birth, northerner by the grace of God, I'm simply a nyc gal who is lost somewhere on my constant exploration of the city and the life, love, and pursuit found within it.

I need some suggestions on tunage for my running mix (I’m back in the saddle, training for marathon-mode) - old songs, new songs, pop songs, rock songs, I don’t discriminate. So, what you got for me?

  1. missperfecto answered: shewolf by shakira!
  2. melissanat answered: The Pioneers by Bloc Party - best running song ever. Embarrassingly, current favorite is “Swing Ya Rag” - but it works
  3. lilmissobsessive answered: hot like fire by jessica simpson, run this town by jay z kanye and rihanna, born to run by bruce springsteen
  4. pinkhotel answered: Songs that helped on Sun.: Whole Lotta Love (Zep), Flashing Lights & Stronger (Kayne), NY,NY (Sinatra), & Smack my bitch up (Prodigy)
  5. fishy answered: Black Eyed Peas “The END”! The whoooole thing is great.
  6. gasp-shock answered: “Orange Shirt” - Discovery, “Hot Air Balloon” - Owl City, “Folding Chair” - Regina Spektor
  7. drunkbrunch answered: New Black Eyed Peas album is great for working out, I still love the LCD Soundsystem’s 45-min “Nike” mix.
  8. maggiemcg answered: all Girl Talk, “Where Are We Runnin?” - Lenny Kravitz, and “Dancing with Myself” - The Donnas always push me to pick it up
  9. rabsnyc answered: Galvanize (the bud light commercial theme song)
  10. nympha-marine answered: Anything Ladyhawke!
