adventures of mascarah.

I've just begun a new decade. Sigh.

I have always wanted to be "a writer" but I'm lost somewhere in the prologue...whittling away at a story I may never tell.

Likes: pop culture. my chihuahua. architecture. modern art. elizabeth street. contemporary designer apparel. food. travel. foreign films. speakeasys. live music. politics. hot sauce. surprises. running in the rain. strangers. wednesdays. fearlessness...and 100s of other random things... maybe even you.

A southerner by birth, northerner by the grace of God, I'm simply a nyc gal who is lost somewhere on my constant exploration of the city and the life, love, and pursuit found within it.

That was one helluva night, folks. It was sort of like going to a high school reunion but the only people there were the ones you truly wanted to see and were honestly interested in catching up with. And then you weren’t disappointed by one thing they said or did, and you wish that every new person you meet in life could be so endearing.

I met a lot of great people. First there was Chris and Jeff, we could have talked about TV for hours. Actually, we did. And then Sara and Amy, they’ve both got sick style. Jessica and I discovered we both used to live in Ft. Wayne, Indiana! It was a pretty big deal to meet Anthony. Sarah and I hit it off, and I wish I had gotten to talk to Rach and Erin more. Oh and my e-crush Mark was in town from Virginia! Jay was really nice, and needs a major follower boost. Aussies Rachel and Monica were a great surprise! Lee and Zach were the life of the party. David, Marco and Tiffany are such a pleasure to be around. What are the chances that I would meet not just one funny Amir, but another funny Amir as well. Chris and I bonded over the sad, sad absence of Aaron, who WILL be present at the next meetup. Jay was pretty intense. My new favorite trio were there: Josh, Vinnie and Travis.Of course, no party is complete without Peter. But, the one I was really hoping would be there and wasn’t, Patrick.

Alright, so when’s the next one?

One recap to rule them all!

Lfarm , you are awesome. I think we should all chip in a few bucks and get a private room in a bar or something for the next one. Ideas? I’m also thinking this should be a monthly ritual.
