adventures of mascarah.

I've just begun a new decade. Sigh.

I have always wanted to be "a writer" but I'm lost somewhere in the prologue...whittling away at a story I may never tell.

Likes: pop culture. my chihuahua. architecture. modern art. elizabeth street. contemporary designer apparel. food. travel. foreign films. speakeasys. live music. politics. hot sauce. surprises. running in the rain. strangers. wednesdays. fearlessness...and 100s of other random things... maybe even you.

A southerner by birth, northerner by the grace of God, I'm simply a nyc gal who is lost somewhere on my constant exploration of the city and the life, love, and pursuit found within it.

If you are so inclined... sap {at} lifelovepursuit.com

maryrambin: Sarah (on the far left) of “Adventures of Mascarah” came up to me tonight and said, “I knew it was you, I recognized your hair, you have the best blond hair in NYC.” (funny all the hair commentary today) I’ve been following her blog for a while so it was nice to finally meet her in person. What an amazing woman: intelligent, witty, ambitious, and damn good at her job. Lauren Farmer of That’s What She Said was also there and equally as cool. We all know I love Lauren, I hope that she ends up being a friend for life :) I had such a fun time at this show with Lauren, Monika, Amy, Cbeth—you are all amazing, and I also had a wonderful time meeting this fabulous threesome. Although this might make me unpopular on here (am I already? maybe. definitely. yes), I don’t really care….Mary, Julia & Meghan are all wonderful as far as I am concerned. I think making assumptions (especially negative ones, especially without having met them) about people is just not cool and that is not the way I live my life. It just isn’t healthy, life is way too short, and there are always more pieces to the puzzle than there may seem to be. I found all three of them to be kind, gracious, lively, smart, beautiful women. I am happy for them, enjoyed hanging out with them, and wish them all the best on their future endeavors.I will never be on the negative bandwagon that seems to be the common thread here. I just don’t agree with it.So if you want to unfollow me or dislike me because I like them then chances are we wouldn’t have gotten along anyways. I definitely respect others rights to opinion but just don’t want to be involved in negativity no matter where it comes from, or who it is directed towards. On a side note: Yuck. This goes down as one of the worst photos of me this year. I think I am going to hit the gym, that arm you see there of mine needs a work out. And that is about it.
