adventures of mascarah.

I've just begun a new decade. Sigh.

I have always wanted to be "a writer" but I'm lost somewhere in the prologue...whittling away at a story I may never tell.

Likes: pop culture. my chihuahua. architecture. modern art. elizabeth street. contemporary designer apparel. food. travel. foreign films. speakeasys. live music. politics. hot sauce. surprises. running in the rain. strangers. wednesdays. fearlessness...and 100s of other random things... maybe even you.

A southerner by birth, northerner by the grace of God, I'm simply a nyc gal who is lost somewhere on my constant exploration of the city and the life, love, and pursuit found within it.

This is Erin.

She went and had herself a 30th birthday over the weekend and threw one hell of an Oscar-themed party. (pics from the party)

Here’s what I know about Erin.

She is quite possibly the sweetest person I know. She is kind and gentle, she listens and loves. She is thoughtful and sincere. She is a dreamer, and she dreams big. She’s determined and perseveres. She is stronger than she realizes.

Erin is an inspiration to me. I push forward, because she does. I think the impossible is possible, because she does. I challenge myself to pursue my passion, because she does.

I am ridiculously lucky to call her one of my closest friends. And I truly, truly hope that this 30th year brings more to her life than she could have imagined.

Happy Birthday, Erin.

Everything that Lauren said. Really, I definitely couldn’t say it more eloquently, so I won’t.

Erin - you are a fantastic friend, a constant inspiration, a smart, beautiful, ambitious, creative, imaginative, kind hearted, warm, loyal friend. I can’t imagine my NY life (or my life in general) without you. Thank you for being my friend. I am so lucky.

I can’t wait to see what 2010 holds for you. I’m sure it will be magical. I look forward to many more nights, adventures, and memories unfolding with you. xxo
